Former Troy receiver Jabre Barber headed to SEC school

Former Troy wide receiver Jabre Barber is headed to Texas A&M, he announced Friday.

Barber, a Dothan native, led the Trojans with 75 receptions for 999 yards in 2023 and also caught five touchdown passes. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Barber was among three former Troy players who announced transfer plans on Friday, along with linebacker Jayden McDonald (Indiana) and defensive end T.J. Jackson (West Virginia). Safety Caleb Ransaw and offensive tackle Derrick Graham have also entered the transfer portal, but remain undecided on their destinations.

Troy went 11-3 in 2023, winning its second straight Sun Belt Conference title. The Trojans ended their season with a 17-10 loss to Duke in the Birmingham Bowl.
