Kentucky murder suspect arrested in North Alabama

A man wanted for murder in Louisville, Ky. was arrested Tuesday in Florence.

Louisville police said Lamarr T. Jones was arrested on charges of murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.

The Louisville Police Fugitive Unit, the U.S. Marshal Service and the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.

Jones was wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on Aug. 15.

According to Louisville police, officers responded to a shooting call at 10:10 p.m. near the intersection of 26th and Market Streets.

They found Terrez Cureton, 31, outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at University Hospital.
