Troy football opponents set for 2024

Troy’s football opponents are set for 2024 after the Sun Belt Conference announced divisional “crossover” opponents for next season on Thursday.

The Trojans will host Coastal Carolina and play at Georgia Southern from the Sun Belt East in 2024, the league office announced. Those two games join with Troy’s six Sun Belt West games to give it eight conference games next season.

Troy will also host Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss and Texas State in Sun Belt play in 2024, and travel to Arkansas State, Louisiana and South Alabama. Previously announced were non-conference games at home vs. Nevada (Aug. 31) and Florida A&M (Sept. 21) and at Memphis (Sept. 7) and at Iowa (Sept. 14).

Dates for Sun Belt Conference games will be announced later, typically around March 1.

Troy finished 11-3 in 2023, winning its second straight Sun Belt Conference championship before losing to Duke 17-10 in the Birmingham Bowl. The Trojans hired former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Gerad Parker to replace head coach Jon Sumrall, who left for Tulane.
