Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman headed to Senior Bowl

Sam Hartman has accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, it was announced Thursday.

Executive director Jim Nagy announced the news on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 before posting the news on social media.

Hartman’s addition to the roster comes a day after the game announced Oregon’s Bo Nix accepted an invitation to the Feb. 3 game.

Hartman threw for 2,689 yards and 24 touchdowns as the Fighting Irish went 9-3 during the regular season. He opted out of Notre Dame’s 40-8 victory over No. 21 Oregon State in the Sun Bowl.

Other notable players committed to the 2024 Senior Bowl include North Carolina State linebacker (and Butkus Award winner) Payton Wilson, Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson, Texas defensive linemen Byron Murphy and (and Outland Trophy winner) T’Vondre Sweat, Texas A&M defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson, Kansas State offensive lineman Cooper Beebe, South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler and wide receiver Xavier Legette, North Carolina wide receiver Tez Walker, Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton, Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt, Georgia center Sedrick Van Pran and Iowa punter (and Ray Guy Award winner) Tory Taylor. Players will continue to be added as game week approaches.
