Alabama football tight end Miles Kitselman became the team’s second player to announce his transfer portal entry since the Crimson Tide’s season ended on Monday. Kitselman spent two years in Tuscaloosa, joining from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

“I want to thank coach (Nick) Saban and coach (Joe) Cox for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, Kitselman said in a social media post on Wednesday. “I will forever be grateful for my time at the University of Alabama. After talking with family and close friends, I have decided to enter into the transfer portal with 1 year of eligibility remaining.”

Kitselman saw action in 13 games during the 2023 season according to participation stats from UA athletic. He largely played special teams but saw some action on offense as well.

He recorded no catches during the 2023 campaign. However, he caught two passes for 18 yards in 2022.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Kitselman hails from Lyndon, Ks. and was not star-rated out of high school. He joins Crimson Tide wide receiver Shazz Preston in announcing his impending departure.

Alabama’s season ended Monday with an overtime loss to Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals. The transfer portal closed at midnight Wednesday for other players, but members of the Crimson Tide have until Saturday, as CFP participants get an extra window once their season ends.
