Rose Bowl parade free live stream: Alabama, CFP float featured; Tim Tebow, Finebaum to ride

The 135th Rose Parade will have an Alabama and SEC football feel on Monday, Jan. 1. The parade will be live streamed on DirecTV Stream (free trial) and fuboTV (free trial and $20 off the first two months).

The annual Pasadena parade is a hallmark of the rich tradition of the Rose Bowl Game, with this year’s matchup featuring No. 1 Michigan and No. 4 Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

ESPN has entered a float in this year’s parade for the first time in nearly two decades.

ESPN’s float celebrates the four CFP semifinalists – Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama. The float itself tops out at 16 feet tall – thanks to a towering CFP trophy – and is 28 feet long and 17 feet wide. Nearly 6,000 flowers were used to create ESPN’s float and the construction utilizes sod directly from the Rose Bowl Stadium, as well as a mix of materials ranging from green ground parsley flakes, white fine ground rice, stems of brown coffee, gold flax seed, whole split pea, and more.

Riding the ESPN float will be Laura Rutledge, Tim Tebow, Paul Finebaum, Jordan Rodgers and Roman Harper of SEC Network’s SEC Nation. Also, Jess Sims from ESPN’s College GameDay, Marty Smith and Ryan McGee of SEC Network’s Marty & McGee and more will be riding.

“Since I am old enough to be a granddaddy may as well be in the parade preceding the Granddaddy of them all,” Finebaum told AL.com.

Who will host the parade?

The Rose Bowl parade will be hosted by CBS anchor Jericka Duncan, Nickelodeon and Disney actor Gabrielle Elyse and “Dance Moms” star Pressley Hosbach.

  • Jordin Sparks: The Grammy-nominated singer will close out the parade’s grand finale.
  • Michelle Williams: The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer will kick off the parade performing in the center of a giant rose. She will be joined by “American Idol” star David Archuleta, “The Voice” 2012 winner Cassadee Pope and musical artist Rush Davis.
