During the Rose Bowl Media Day session in Lot K of the venue, Alabama football players were an open book, so we asked them a simple question: Who is your favorite Alabama football player of all time?

We all have our picks, but it was a unique opportunity to ask the guys who actually wear the crimson and white now which players they loved watching before they made it to the Capstone.

Their answers did not disappoint either. Some will surprise you, while some went with guys who played the same position. And as you might imagine, every person they mentioned played during the Nick Saban era in Tuscaloosa.

Reuben Foster. “He’s just a dog,” Booker said about the former standout Bama linebacker. “He emulates what Alabama football is and how it’s supposed to be played. He’s definitely one of my favorites, for sure.”

Jermaine Burton

Jihaad Campbell

Julio Jones. “That was actually my favorite player growing up because I used to play receiver,” Campbell said. “And I always liked to watch his highlights. And I just like how competitive he is and how much of a relentless hard-worker he is, too.”

Justin Eboigbe

Quinnen Williams. “Just seeing his story, how he broke out one year,” the defensive lineman said. “Wearing the same number as me, he was the last dominant defensive lineman that came out of here.”

Kendrick Law

I’ve watched Jalen a long time,” Law said. “I just like the way he transitioned from his life here to transferring and still keeping the same mindset and transferring that to the [National Football] league and the things he’s doing in the league.”

Jase McClellan

Najee Harris and Josh Jacobs. “As a running back, either Najee or Josh,” McClellan said. “Those guys remind me of myself. And then especially being here with Najee, just seeing how he worked and would do things, and just learning from him.”

Kool-Aid McKinstry

“I’ve never been asked that question before,” the standout defensive back said before landing on Quinnen Williams. “We have a family connection. Just seeing him overcome the things he’s overcome, and seeing how he bloomed into who he became is just special to me and meant a lot to me just to see it happen with my own eyes.

Seth McLaughlin

Mark Ingram. “Just going back and watchin gall those highlights,” the starting center said about Alabama’s first Heisman Trophy-winner. “His personality on and off the field, he’s probably my favorite player.

Jalen Milroe

Jalen Hurts.

Dallas Turner

Minkah Fitzpatrick. “Honestly, who I enjoyed watching the most growing up in high school and stuff like that, I’ve got to say Minkah Fitzpatrick,” Turner said. “He’s just a guy whose motor is running the whole game. It was fun watching him play a lot.”
