It’s been more than five years since a 21-year-old man was fatally shot while playing video games inside an Opelika home, and still no arrests have been made.

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the 2018 killing of Octavious Bennett.

Bennett was killed at 11:40 p.m. on July 31, 2018, at the Hickory Haven Trailer Park on Crawford Road.

Witnesses told investigators that Bennett was in the living room playing video games with friends when they heard shots fire from outside.

One of those bullets traveled through the wall of the mobile home, striking Bennett. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
