Authorities have released the name of a young man killed in a drive-by shooting in Midfield.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office Friday identified the victim as Jordan Tyler Johnson. He was 22 and lived in Adamsville.

The deadly shooting happened at 1:58 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Griffin Drive.

Authorities said Johnson was sitting in a vehicle at a friend’s house when another vehicle drove by and opened fire.

Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:16 p.m.

Midfield police Chief Jesse Bell said investigators believe Johnson was targeted.

No arrests have been announced.
