LANK: Which Disney character is most likely to be an Alabama naysayer?

Alabama football’s “LANK” acronym has become a rallying cry for the Crimson Tide throughout the 2023 season. The word stands for “Let All Naysayers Know,” and was popularized by UA quarterback Jalen Milroe and cornerback Terrion Arnold, who are now selling shirts with the word on them, with the proceeds going to football player NIL efforts.

After arriving in California Tuesday ahead of Monday’s College Football Playoff matchup with Michigan in the Rose Bowl, Milroe was among the Alabama players who spoke to media Wednesday at Disneyworld. He was asked which Disney character is most likely to be a naysayer.

“Goofy,” Milroe said after thinking about the question for a moment.

Why?

“I don’t know, his name’s Goofy.”

The Crimson Tide has keyed in on the so-called naysayers, especially after UA lost to Texas and struggled with South Florida in weeks 2 and 3. They’ve eradicated many such naysayers with their play, winning the SEC championship and earning a spot in the CFP.

Safety Malachi Moore kept it to one of the company’s most well-known villains.

“Captain Hook,” Moore said, referring to the evildoer from the Peter Pan franchise.

Alabama outside linebacker Dallas Turner, a Florida native, grew up going to Disneyworld. He said his favorite ride there was the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

When asked which Disney character he thought was most likely to be a naysayer, he went directly to one of the company’s oldest and most well-known.

“Donald Duck,” Turner said.

“…Because he’s a hater.”

Alabama and Michigan are set to kick off at 4 p.m. CT on Monday in Pasadena. The game will be aired on ESPN.
