Birmingham mother sentenced to 90 years in prison for shooting death of 21-year-old son
A Birmingham mother has been sentenced to prison for the 2020 shooting death of her adult son.
Jefferson County Circuit Judge Shanta Craig Owens on Wednesday sentenced 48-year-old Micia Sharika Gamble to 90 years in prison.
Gamble was given the opportunity to make a statement to the court before sentencing but declined.
Gamble was convicted in November of murder in the killing of 21-year-old Tim’Darius Gamble.
Her boyfriend, 62-year-old Gregory Peck, pleaded guilty to the same charge in 2021 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Birmingham police responded just after 8 p.m. that Monday, April 13, 2020, to the residence at 716 Avenue H in Pratt City.
When they arrived at the home, they found Tim’Darius Gamble in the back yard by a vehicle. He was unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene.
Assistant District Attorneys Sarah Beth Eldridge and Nick Taggart prosecuted the case. Gamble was defended by attorney Jaqueline Morrette.
