A pedestrian was killed after she was struck on Center Point Parkway.

The crash happened at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on the parkway near 23rd Terrace N.W.

Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said a deputy was flagged down near the intersection and alerted to the wreck. The deputy found the woman – wearing dark clothing – had been hit.

She was taken to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.

Money said the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing by the sheriff’s office accident reconstruction team.
