Alabama Whataburger opening postponed: 6 more locations coming in 2023
People in Marshall County will have to wait a little longer to sample Whataburger.
But not to worry – the Texas-based chain is planning to open at least six new locations in Alabama this year.
The restaurant had planned to open its newest location in Albertville, at 6950 U.S. 431, on Thursday. However, the chain announced that has been postponed. A new opening will be announced later.
The restaurant employs 120 people.
Whataburger already has 26 locations in Alabama and opened a Madison restaurant in November.
Following the opening of a restaurant in Athens last year, this location is the second of 30 restaurants set to open through 2027 in partnership with MWB Restaurants, Whataburger’s local franchise group.
Additional restaurants coming to the state this year include:
- 2056 Winchester Rd. N.E., Huntsville.
- 14739 U.S. 231, Hazel Green.
- 23065 John T. Reid Pkwy., Scottsboro.
- 5850 University Dr. N.W., Huntsville.
- 1562 Florence Blvd., Florence.
- 2015 Cherokee Ave. S.W., Cullman.
