If surveys are correct, alcohol is a popular Christmas gift.

A survey by Numerator found 64% of U.S. households made an alcohol purchase during holidays, spending an average of $102 on liquor between November – December. A vast majority of those surveyed – 85.9% – purchased alcohol during this time frame for a holiday event and 61% purchased it to give as a gift.

So whether you’re planning on making a boozy purchase for yourself or as a gift, it’s important to pay attention to liquor store hours leading up to Christmas Day.

In Alabama, ABC retail stores will be open 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23. ABC stores are closed on Sunday and will remain closed on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25.

ABC stores will also be closed on New Year’s Eve (Sunday, Jan. 31) and Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.

Other ABC holiday hours for 2024 include:

King/Lee Birthday – All stores will be open on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, unless normally closed on Mondays.

Presidents’ Day – All stores will be open on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, unless normally closed on Mondays.

Confederate Memorial Day – All stores will be open Monday, April 22, 2024, unless normally closed on Mondays.

Memorial Day – All stores will be closed Monday, May 27, 2024, except:

• Store 239, Orange Beach
• Store 240, Gulf Shores

Jefferson Davis’ Birthday- All stores will be open on Monday, June 3, 2024, unless normally closed on Mondays.

Juneteenth – All stores will be closed June 19, 2023, except:

• Store 239, Orange Beach
• Store 240, Gulf Shores

Independence Day (4th of July) – All stores will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, except

• Store 239, Orange Beach
• Store 240, Gulf Shores

Labor Day – All stores will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024, except:

• Store 239, Orange Beach
• Store 240, Gulf Shores

Columbus Day – All stores will be open on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, unless normally closed on Mondays.

Veterans Day – All stores will be open on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024.

Thanksgiving – All stores will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024.

Christmas – All retail Store hours will be 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24th, 2024. All stores will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024.
