15-year-old boy critically injured in predawn Bessemer shooting

An investigation is underway after an early-morning shooting left a teen with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened at 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of Fairfax Avenue in Bessemer.

-Det. Justin Burmeister said officers arrived on the scene and found a wounded 15-year-boy inside a vehicle.

The teen was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he remains in critical condition.

Burmeister said no arrests have been made.
