Inked: 4-star Pike Road DL Malik Blocton signs letter of intent with Auburn

Malik Blocton, a 4-star defensive lineman out of Pike Road High School, is the most recent player to officially join Auburn’s 2024 signing class.

Blocton, who has been committed to Hugh Freeze and the Tigers since July 8 signed his name on the dotted line of his national letter of intent on Wednesday, becoming the first high school recruit of the early signing period to send over his paperwork to Auburn.

Blocton held a signing ceremony on Dec. 11, but couldn’t officially submit his paperwork until Wednesday.

During his senior season at Pike Road, Blocton led the Patriots’ defense with 118 total tackles, 30 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries an interception and two fumble recoveries.

Pike Road DL Malik Blocton commits to Auburn over Texas, others

Measuring 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, Blocton ranks as the 50th best defensive line prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle and is 25th-ranked prospect out of the state of Alabama, regardless of position, according to 247Sports.

After being one of the first teams to offer Blocton back in 2021, Auburn earned the defensive lineman’s commitment over the summer. Throughout his recruitment, Blocton also earned offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Oregon and Texas, among others.

With the addition of Blocton, barring any changes to Auburn’s current or prospective roster, the Tigers’ defensive line room is set to include Blocton, Keldric Faulk, Quientrail Jamison-Travis, Jayson Jones, 4-star TJ Lindsey, 3-star Dimitry Nicolas, Darron Reed Jr., Justin Rogers and Zykeivous Walker.
