Why you should buy Forever stamps soon

You may want to add Forever stamps to your holiday shopping list.

The price of Forever stamps – which can be used in perpetuity no matter future price changes -is set to go up Jan. 21, 2024. On that day, prices will increase by 2 cents from 66 cents to 68 cents each.

Stamp prices last increased on July 9 when prices rose from 63 cents to 66 cents.

“Inflationary pressure” was cited as the reason behind the price hike.

“As inflationary pressures on operating expenses continue and the effects of a previously defective pricing model are still being felt, these price adjustments are needed to provide the Postal Service with much-needed revenue to achieve the financial stability sought by its Delivering for America 10-year plan. The prices of the Postal Service remain among the most affordable in the world,” USPS said in a statement.
