Florence police officer arrested on domestic violence charges resigns from department

A Florence police officer arrested on domestic violence charges in October has resigned from the department.

Javen Pillar’s disciplinary hearing was set for Monday but he stepped down before the proceedings could take place, WAFF reported.

Pillar, whose age was unavailable, was charged with third-degree domestic violence in connection with an Oct. 4 incident, police told AL.com at the time.
