5-star QB Dylan Raiola flips from Georgia to Nebraska

Five-star quarterback prospect Dylan Raiola flipped from Georgia to Nebraska on Monday, a long-rumored move two days before National Signing Day.

Raiola, from Buford High School in Georgia, is the son of former Nebraska and NFL offensive lineman Dominic Raiola. Dylan’s uncle, Dominic Raiola, is currently the Cornhuskers’ offensive line coach.

“I firmly believe that Nebraska is in my blood,” Raiola told ESPN. “It’s a great opportunity to be part of something bigger than myself. Nebraska is a special place.”

Dylan Raiola announced his commitment to Nebraska with, of all things, a poem posted on social media:

Dylan Raiola, rated the No. 2 overall player in the country by 247 Sports, originally committed to Ohio State, but flipped to Georgia last May. He has played at three high schools in three different states the last three years — Burleson (Texas) High School as a sophomore, Pinnacle (Phoenix) High School as a junior and Buford as a senior.

Georgia still has a commitment from 4-star quarterback prospect Dominic Puglisi of Avon, Conn., for its 2024 class, which remains ranked No. 1 in the country. In addition, current starter Carson Beck announced Monday he will return for his final season of eligibility in 2024.

Nebraska finished 5-7 in 2023 under first-year coach Matt Rhule.
