Auburn alum Trace Crowe earns his PGA Tour card for the 2024 season

A new Auburn golf product is on the PGA Tour.

Tigers alum Trace Crowe earned his first PGA Tour card Monday for the 2024 season by finishing second in the PGA Tour’s Q School — a sequence of tournaments to whittle down hopefuls to qualify for golf’s highest level.

The top five golfers, including ties, in the final round of Q-School all earn their PGA Tour cards, meaning they become full members of the Tour for the next season.

Crowe finished the tournament at -11, shooting a three-under 67 on Monday to clinch his top-five. Heavy rain in Florida over the weekend made Sunday’s round on the Dye’s Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, unplayable, pushing the finale to Monday.

Crowe played at Auburn from 2015-2019. He was a second-team All-SEC golfer in 2017 and 2019.

He played this year on the Korn Ferry Tour — a minor league to the PGA Tour, so to speak — with conditional status. He went on to win the NV5 Invitational in July in Illinois which greatly boosted Crowe up the Korn Ferry points standings from well outside the top 100 to 36th.

The top 30 players in the Korn Ferry points standings each year earn PGA Tour cards.

Crowe just missed out there, finishing the season 38th. But he came back to qualify for the Tour via his top 5 Q School finish.

Crowe has just three previous PGA Tour starts.
