Robertsdale man struck, killed while walking on US 90

A Robertsdale man was killed Sunday evening when he was struck by a vehicle while walking along U.S. 90, according to Robertsdale police Public Information Officer Lt. Paul Overstreet.

Police responded to the area of U.S. 90 about 6 p.m. Sunday. Initial investigation indicates 35-year-old Bartholomew Hambright was walking westbound along the highway when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

Hambright may have had vehicle problems and was walking home when the accident occurred, according to police.

Hambright was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. The driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Police said no charges have been filed against the driver and all evidence collected will be turned over to a Baldwin County grand jury for review.
