Alabama offensive tackle plans to enter transfer portal: Report

Alabama football will see one of its offensive linemen hit the transfer portal according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports. Offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett reportedly plans to enter the portal.

Pritchett, a redshirt freshman, came to Alabama in the class of 2022. He competed with true freshman Kadyn Proctor for the Crimson Tide left tackle job this season.

Proctor ended up with the lion’s share of the snaps at that position, though Pritchett got snaps as well, especially early in SEC play. The line as a whole struggled throughout the early part of the season, but has improved in the late going.

Pritchett is listed as having participated in 12 games this season. He played a total of 95 snaps this season according to Pro Football Focus.

“I’m really proud of both those guys ( Proctor and Pritchett) for the way they’re weathering the storm right now,” Alabama guard Tyler Booker said in October. “Brighter days are definitely ahead, I like how they improve each week.”

Pritchett is listed at 6-foot-6, 312 pounds on Alabama’s football roster. He joined the Crimson Tide as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports composite out of Carver in Georgia.

He chose Alabama over a host of offers, including Florida State, Georgia and Southern Cal.

The Crimson Tide’s season at least has one more game, in the Rose Bowl semifinal of the College Football Playoff against Michigan. The game is scheduled for Jan. 1.
