NBA suspends Draymond Green indefinitely for âstrikingâ Jusuf Nurkic
The NBA announced Wednesday that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended indefinitely for “striking” Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face.
Joe Dumars, the executive vice president and the league’s head of basketball operations, made the announcement in a statement released by the league.
The suspension, per the release, took into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.
The incident occurred with 8:23 remaining in the third quarter of the Suns’ 119-116 win on Tuesday. Green was called for a flagrant foul 2 and was ejected.
Green is expected to receive counseling and work with the Warriors and NBA while suspended to meet criteria before a return to play, per The Athletic.
Green was ejected for the 18th time in his career, most among active NBA players.
It’s been less than a month since Green was suspended five games by the NBA for putting Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert into a headlock during an altercation in November.
