A man was shot to death inside a Walker County home on Sunday night.

Sheriff officials on Monday said deputies responded to a residence near Mill Creek Lane, off Dogtown Road.

When they arrived, they found the victim dead from a gunshot wound fired by a female at the home.

Sheriff Nick Smith the shooting appears to be domestic in nature.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional details – including the victim’s name – are being release.

Smith said the case will likely be presented to a Walker County grand jury to determine whether charges will be filed.
