Former Alabama GOP staffer involved in angry holiday party confrontation with NY Congressman

A New York State Congressman says a former staffer who also worked on several Alabama campaigns – who he was caught threatening on video earlier this month – had threatened a member of his family.

Rep. Brandon Williams (R-N.Y.), talking to Politico, said that his former chief of staff, Michael Gordon, attempted to expose his 27-year old daughter’s OnlyFans account after Williams fired him.

OnlyFans charges subscribers for access to sexually explicit content.

Gordon, who was Williams’ former chief of staff, has worked on campaigns for Sen. Tommy Tuberville, GOP Senate candidate Mike Durant and 2020 congressional candidate Jessica Taylor, according to Alabama Political Reporter.

Attempts to reach Gordon for comment were not immediately successful.

Gordon gave this account to Syracuse.com: “He said, ‘I know things, Michael. I know you’re trying to ruin my f—ing family. I’m going to try to ruin you.’ He said, ‘You know exactly what I’m f—ing talking about. Don’t try to bulls— me.’”

Gordon said he felt threatened by the congressman. A wait staffer who noticed the incident attempted to intervene. He said the waiter also tried to inform Williams that his suit jacket was dangerously close to the flame of a candle.

“It was very traumatic,” Gordon said. “I thought he was going to take a swing at me.”

Gordon, talking to Politico, said that “the allegations Congressman Williams has levied against me are categorically false.”

Williams also named Ryan Sweeney, his former legislative director, as in on the scheme. Sweeney called the allegations “completely false.”

Earlier this month, a video surfaced of Williams threatening Gordon in Washington.

“You f— with my family, I’ll end every relationship that you have,” Williams says to Gordon in the video. “Every single friend. Do you understand me? Do you understand me? You think I don’t know?”

A member of the wait staff can be heard off-camera saying, “Excuse me. Hello?”

Williams replies, “Hey, why don’t you get the police in?” before knocking the phone out of the hands of the person filming it.

The incident occurred at a holiday party sponsored by a Washington lobbying firm.

Gordon served as campaign manager for Williams last year, and then as chief of staff before they parted ways in April.

Williams said in the interview he had learned from other aides that Gordon had shared details of the OnlyFans account with others and was “saying really rude things about (Williams’) wife.”

Gordon was “trying to exert some leverage over me,” Williams told Politico, “and I just simply won’t allow that to happen.”
