An Addison woman was killed Thursday morning in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Leigh B. Johnson. She was 42.

The wreck happened at 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 278, about four miles east of Adison in Winston County.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Leigh Johnson was driving a Dodge Durango that collided head-on with the Freightliner driven by 51-year-old Shannon L. Johnson of Cullman.

Leigh Johnson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Shannon Johnson was taken to Cullman Regional Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
