A woman was arrested Tuesday on murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man earlier in the day in Montgomery, police said.

Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a death investigation in the 600 block of Williamson Road around 12:16 p.m. Tuesday, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

Evidence discovered at the scene showed that the death was the result of a homicide, said Coleman.

Keith Powell, 45, of Montgomery, was found with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Raytoria McBridge, 36, also of Montgomery, was charged with murder in Powell’s death after quickly being identified as a suspect.

She was taken to the Montgomery County jail, where she is being held without bond.
