Fort Payne police say one person is dead following a traffic crash Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at a traffic Y in the 2400 block of Gault Avenue North.

As of 11 a.m., most traffic in the area of the Y was shut down, according to police.

The crash is under investigation.

Police have not yet released information about the identity of the victim.
