A Birmingham woman was found dead Saturday morning in a crashed vehicle off Bankhead Highway.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Ebony Lakesha White. She was 49.

White was found dead Saturday morning in the 600 block of Bankhead Highway. Residents in the area called 911 after seeing a Chevrolet Tahoe off the roadway.

Investigators were able to find video surveillance from nearby businesses that showed the SUV wrecking at 2:35 a.m.

White was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:07 a.m.

Birmingham police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
