Alabama RB Jahmyr Gibbs makes NFL draft decision
After one season in Tuscaloosa, Jahmyr Gibbs is going pro.
The running back who transferred from Georgia Tech announced Monday that he was entering the NFL. He joins Alabama teammates Will Anderson and Bryce Young who went pro in a news conference at the football complex.
After playing two seasons in Atlanta, Gibbs was an instant weapon in the Crimson Tide offense. He led the team in receptions with 44 with an average of 10.1 yards a catch while serving as the No. 1 running back. His 151 carries and 926 rushing yards and 6.1-yard average also led the team with his mix of speed and vision.
Gibbs is among the highest-rated running backs in the draft class with Texas’ Bijan Robinson topping most draft boards.
Alabama’s had running backs drafted in four of the last five drafts with Brian Robinson going in the third round (98th overall) last year.
