A Birmingham man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in northern Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Daryl L. Polk. He was 62.

The crash happened at 6:56 p.m. Thursday in the 3300 block of Erwin Dairy Road. Additional details have not been released.

Polk was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:33 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
