20-year-old IDâd as victim of fatal crash in west Jefferson County
Authorities have released the name of a young man killed in earlier this week in western Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Hunter Paul Vance. He was 20 and lived in Bessemer.
A passerby called 911 at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday to report the crash on Groundhog Road, just past Sealy Ann Mountain Road.
Lt. Joni Money said when deputies arrived, they found a Chevy Silverado had left the road and hit multiple trees.
Vance was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:09 a.m. Wednesday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
