The Tennessee Titans are bad, the Carolina Panthers are worse. One divisional basement dweller will get a win in Week 12 as the teams meet in Nashville, but which one will it be? We hit you with some best bets and picks for Sunday’s game.

NFL Week 12 Panthers vs. Titans odds preview

Let’s start with the Panthers, who are by some measure the worst of all 32 teams this year. One win, nine defeats, with bottom-five rankings in points scored, points allowed, passing yards gained, and rushing yards gained. Their offense is almost mesmerically bad considering they have No. 1 draft pick Bryce Young.

The heat is rising on head coach Frank Reich after a 33-10 Week 11 defeat to the Cowboys which saw Carolina score fewer than 16 points for the fifth week in a row. Young had a season-low 123 passing yards in that game.

Now, Reich’s side travel to Tennessee to take on the floundering Titans. There aren’t many winnable games left on the Panthers’ schedule, but this is one of them.

A few short weeks ago, Tennessee was 3-4 and in with a genuine shout of making a splash in the AFC South. But the Titans have lost three in a row, and five of the last six, and rookie quarterback Will Levis is toiling after a promising start.

So far through their three-game losing skid, the Titans are averaging just 12 points per game. But those defeats have all been on the road, and they’ll hope home comforts precipitate improvement.

Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is at noon CT live on FOX. The hosting Titans opened as 3.5-point favorites.

NFL Week 12 Panthers vs. Titans best bet: Under 36.5 points (-110)

Neither team can attack to save its life, but the Panthers do have the sixth-best defense in the league in terms of yards allowed per game (308.6). That combination of toothless attack and stout pass defense has seen the game total hit the under in four of the Panthers’ last five games, and that’s also the case in 11 of Tennessee’s last 14 games.

We see no reason for that to change here. Points will be hard to come by.

NFL Week 12 Panthers vs. Titans player prop: Young under 22.5 passing completions (-130 at FanDuel)

It’s too early to judge Young’s career or the ability to hit his potential as, save for Adam Thielen, he’s working with virtually nothing around him. But to the naked eye, it hasn’t looked good. Under a microscope, it looks even worse.

Young has been sacked 36 times in nine starts, including seven times last week by the Cowboys. He has nearly as many interceptions (eight) as he does touchdown passes (nine), and has thrown three pick-6s in the last three games, including two against the Colts. Meanwhile, the Panthers have scored just three offensive touchdowns in the last four games.

NFL Week 12 Panthers vs. Titans player prop: Henry to score a touchdown (+105 at DraftKings)

A primary goal for the Titans here will be to find running back Derrick Henry, who is averaging fewer than 16 carries per game while rushing for a sixth-best 663 yards.

The two-time NFL rushing champ needs just two yards on Sunday to become the 38th player in league history with 9,000 yards rushing in his career and just the eighth to reach 9,000 rushing yards and 80 rushing TDs before turning 30. The Panthers’ porous rush defense and all-around weaknesses make this a good candidate for him to grab his fifth TD.
