THIS GAME WILL DETERMINE
If UAB can close out a disappointing season on a high note with two straight wins for the first time this year.
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
1. Chasing The Rainbow. Jacob Zeno is 340 passing yards away from setting the UAB single-season record and accomplishing that feat is quite possible in facing a North Texas defense ranked dead last in defense (x). Zeno ranks second nationally in completion rate (74.5 percent) and fourth in completions per game (26.3).
2. Sirens of Titan. UAB had its best defensive performance of the season last week against Temple but faces a different monster in North Texas. The Mean Green rank ninth in total offense (482.4 ypg) but are susceptible along the offensive line, giving up 34 sacks and 68 tackles for loss.
3. Time After Time. The Blazers lead the overall series and currently have a four-game winning streak over North Texas. UAB has dominated in its last two wins but has not been the underdog since the 2019 season finale, where TD Marshall returned a pick-6 to clinch the CUSA west division title.
KEY MATCHUP
UAB’s pass rush vs North Texas’ offensive line: The Blazers have been more aggressive on defense as of late and would do well to focus that energy on a unit giving up 3.1 sacks per game (34).
