Protect ya peace…and your Black dollars | Black Joy â November 24, 2023
Y’all woke up from your food comas yet?
I hope your kitchen was full of greens, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, pie and turkey! Or you packed yourself some hefty to-go plates to live off of for the next couple days. Hope those spade or board games y’all were playing didn’t get too heated, now!
Speaking of heated, we know that sometimes things can go left during the holidays. So breathe in and breathe out and join us on your yoga mat (or blanket!). Adi Devta Kaur, who recently opened the first Black-owned yoga studio in Birmingham, Ala., is gonna help ease our minds with a free, virtual restorative yoga session on Dec. 3 at 12:30 ET.
Slip some peace to your friends and fam today before we dive into a newsletter packed with Black healing and deals from some Black-owned businesses.

The Black yogi making history in the Magic City
You know how the fitness industry talks about getting bodies snatched? But what about your soul? After completing 500 yoga teacher training hours in 2020 while stranded in India during the pandemic, Adi can educate you a thing or two about healing and reaching your goals. After three years of fundraising, Adi and her husband made history in Birmingham by transforming a mother-in-law suite on their property into the city’s first Black-owned yoga studio.
Minding our Black business
It’s time to get in our bags and spread the wealth among each other. Our virtual Blackity Black Friday database is now live!
