Police say a 76-year-old from Tuscumbia has died after a two-vehicle crash near Muscle Shoals.

Alabama State Troopers said Jimmie D. Smallwood was fatally injured when the 2005 Ford Freestyle he was driving was struck by a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by Emma C. Snipes, 24, also of Tuscumbia.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on Alabama Highway 20 near mile marker 30, about three miles southeast of Muscle Shoals in Colbert County.

No further information was available at publication. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
