Alabama State Troopers say a 25-year-old woman has died after the car she was driving left the road and struck a tree in St. Clair County.

Troopers say Mekala S. Bonner of Odenville was fatally injured in the crash which occurred around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Kelly Creek Road, about three miles south of Odenville.

Troopers say Bonner was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang and was not using a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

No further information is available at publication time. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
