Hereâs 5 Huntsville ALDOT road projects you need to know about
The Huntsville metro has $426 million worth of Alabama Department of Transportation projects under construction or expected to begin by Fiscal 2026, according to an ALDOT report.
Here are five projects to keep an eye on:
1. U.S. 72 widening project
The $85 million project is expected to add lanes on the major commuting highway from Providence Main to County Line Road. It’s being done in phases, with the first phase running from Providence Main to the cemetery past Indian Creek. Bridge work will be included. It’s not expected to start until Fiscal 2025 at earliest.
