An investigation is underway after a Birmingham shooting sent one person to the hospital.

The shooting happened at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of 49th Court North.

Detail surrounding the incident have not yet been made available.

Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said the victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No one is in custody.
