Authorities have been on the scene of a suspected drug lab in northern Jefferson County.

Warrior police responded about 9 a.m. Friday to a call for service in the 500 block of Arkadelphia Road in Warrior.

Officers found what is believed to be an active chemical-making lab inside of a home there.

Investigators responded to the scene, as did the Warrior Fire Department, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Agency and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.

Police said the situation is contained and poses not threat to the public.

It was not immediately clear if any arrests have been made. Efforts to reach Warrior police officials throughout the day were unsuccessful
