Week 12 Huntsville Player of the Week is a repeat winner

Jake Poldiak turned in a dominant performance in leading his second-ranked Madison Academy team to a first-round Class 3A playoff win over Hokes Bluff.

He also dominated the balloting in the Week 12 Huntsville Player of the Week poll, earning 93 percent of the 4,471 votes cast.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound senior quarterback all 14 of his passes for 177 yards and three touchdowns in the 57-20 win. Poldiak and the Mustangs host Mars Hill on Friday in a second-round game.

Tanner quarterback Karl Parham was second in the voting after completing 18-of-28 passes for 273 yards and three TDs. He also ran for 170 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts in a 64-55 win over Lamar County.

Record-setting QB Brandon Musch of Westminster Christian was third in the voting. Musch ran for 180 yards and three scores and passed for 125 yards with two more TDs in a 30-13 win over Oak Grove.

Voting for the Huntsville Football Player of the Week opens on Sundays during the season and runs through Wednesday. Nominees are determined from statistics submitted by coaches or official team statisticians before noon each Saturday.

In Week 12, more than 60,000 votes were cast across the three AL.com player of the week polls.
