Birmingham man indicted in killing of girlfriend in front of their 2-year-old son

A 32-year-old man has been indicted in the shooting death of a Birmingham mother who was killed in front of her 2-year-old son.

A Jefferson County grand jury on Oct. 19 issued the capital murder indictment against Arkeem Tiyon Marshall in the death of 28-year-old TiMira Marchelle Pullom, his girlfriend and the mother of their child.

The indictment was made public Wednesday. The charge is capital because the child was present at the time of the deadly shooting.

West Precinct officers were dispatched at 12:45 a.m. that Sunday – Sept. 17 – to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 3700 block of Pine Avenue S.W.

Police entered the home and found Pullom unresponsive inside.

Marshall was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Sept. 18, and remains held without bond.

Pullom’s family previously released this statement to AL.com:

“TiMira was not only a devoted mother, daughter, and friend but also an embodiment of kindness and compassion. She possessed an unwavering commitment to assisting those in need, and her smile radiated a profound sense of warmth to all who had the privilege of crossing her path. The memory of her luminous spirit will forever be engraved in our hearts and cherished in our thoughts.”

A trial date has not yet been set.
