Fairhope Brewing ready to open Mobile venture, Wingman Brewing
Fairhope Brewing Co.’s new Mobile venture, Wingman Brewing Co., will open much sooner than previously announced. In fact, operators plan to open the taps at noon Saturday, Nov. 18.
Fairhope Brewing announced the venture in late September, and at that time projected an opening in early 2024. Wingman will operate at 656 St. Louis St., formerly the home of Old Majestic Brewing.
“We are thrilled to introduce Wingman Brewing Company to the Downtown Mobile community,” Brian Kane, managing partner of Fairhope Brewing Co., said in an announcement issued by the 10-year-old company. “This expansion not only allows us to showcase our established favorites but also brings a new dimension to our offerings by focusing on cutting-edge flavors and styles. We challenged our head brewer, Jacob Sellers, to test the limits at this new location, and we expect him to rise to the occasion.”
According to Fairhope Brewing, opening day at Wingman will feature 14 brews on tap. “Guests will find Fairhope favorites like Pink Delicious, a pink lemonade seltzer, as well as new styles brewed exclusively for the Wingman location, like a Moscow Mule-inspired seltzer and a brand new, triple dry-hopped Bankhead IPA.”
The latest announcement reiterated the point that Wingman won’t simply be a branch office of Fairhope Brewing. Instead, it’ll “serve as an experimental pop-up tasting room where Fairhope’s brewing team will experiment with new things and introduce options that won’t be found anywhere else. That will include “an extensive selection of constantly rotating seltzers and flavored sour ales that will change frequently, offering patrons something new all the time.” Offerings also will include Leisure Ade, a hard seltzer inspired by sports drinks.
Saturday’s opening ceremonies will include music from Zoe Burdett starting at noon and from Mitch Johnston starting at 4 p.m.
Wingman’s hours will be 1-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon until 8 p.m. Friday-Sunday. “The Wingman will operate as a BYOF (bring your own food) establishment, and guests will be encouraged to order to-go options from the Cheese Cottage, located next door.”
