Sneak peek: Alabama squirrel causes stir on ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’

Guys, here’s some online dating advice from Whitney Way Thore of TLC’s “My Big Fat Fabulous Life:” A baby flying squirrel makes for a pretty good wingman.

“This is what I don’t understand,” she says during a virtual date in the newest episode of the show, airing Tuesday, Nov. 14. “If you are in possession of a flying squirrel, why on earth are you not leading with that?”

As you might recall, Thore and Co. visited Dauphin Island earlier in the show’s current season to connect with some previously unknown family members. Among other things, Thore got to experience a Lower Alabama crawfish boil, something that wasn’t entirely in her comfort zone.

That trip to Alabama is long over, but Alabama connections linger on. (And, yes, Thore is still pronouncing the state’s name as “Alabamur.”)

During the visit, relatives were trying to set her up on a date with a local guy. They never got together, but in the season’s 11th episode, Whitney and Kenny finally get together online.

After a little small talk about topics such as sushi and children, Kenny mentions he has an unusual pet. When that comes out, Thore wants to see it immediately.

“Like literally as soon as I called it should have just been the squirrel front and center in the camera,” she says.

Viewers get just a glimpse in a preview clip supplied by TLC, but they should see a little more than that in the full episode. According to TLC, they’ll see some other big developments “as Whitney gets Glenn, Hunter and her new family ready for their Swiss family vacation.” Thore may be finally getting her braces off, but her father Glenn’s visit to an eye doctor goes “horribly wrong.”

According to TLC, the episode, titled “My Big Fat Dental Adventure,” will premiere at 8 p.m. central time on Tuesday, Nov. 14. It will be shown again at midnight on Tuesday; 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17; noon on Sunday, Nov. 19; and at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21.
