The other finalists for the AL utility Silver Slugger Award were Brandon Drury of the Los Angeles Angels and Isaac Paredes of the Tampa Bay Rays. Drury also was a finalist for the AL second base Silver Slugger Award. Paredes was a finalist for the AL third base Silver Slugger Award, too.

Henderson started 68 games at third base, 64 games at shortstop and 11 games at designated hitter in 2023. He appeared in 84 games at third base, 83 games at shortstop and 11 games at designated hitter.

Henderson won the Alabama Mr. Baseball Award for 2019 while playing for Morgan Academy in Selma. The Orioles selected Henderson in the second round of the 2019 draft.

Henderson is a finalist for the 2023 American League Rookie of the Year Award, along with Cleveland Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee and Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas.
