What is the festival’s motivation?
Since the beginning, the Fairhope Film Festival has sought to provide a bit of an all-star roundup. Rather than specializing in any particular genre, or competing with established major festivals for cutting-edge premieres, it has tried to offer the cream of the crop. Or as organizers put it: “Our festival’s focus is on national and international film festival competition finalists of the past year: the ‘best of the best’ in cinema arts. Notable foreign and feature films, documentaries and shorts — many that never made it to the big box theaters or were only there briefly — will be selected for appreciative audiences.”
