An afternoon shooting in the Norwood area left a male with serious injuries.

The shooting happened at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of 32nd Place North.

According to police radio communications, the male victim sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.

He was taken to UAB Hospital.

Sgt. LaQuitta said the man’s injuries are life-threatening.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
