Pine Hill police search for suspect wanted for assault, attempted murder

A search is underway as Pine Hill police have issued an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Gary Kendall Brown under first-degree assault/attempted murder charges, according to reports from Action News.

Pine Hill Police Chief Nikisha Gailes told Action 8 News that she received a call Saturday morning that 51-year-old Carrie Simon had been shot on Wilcox County Road 18 and taken to the hospital for treatment.

An arrest warrant was later issued for Brown. He is described as 5′10″ and 170 pounds and reported to last be seen driving east on County Road 18 in a gray 2021 Kia K5 with Alabama license plate #A0W97T.

Brown is considered to be armed and dangerous and may be traveling outside of the Wilcox County area, according to Action News.
