Prichard seeks tips on who killed 26-year-old man found shot in the street

Authorities in Prichard are asking for information that will lead to the arrest of a suspect who shot a 26-year-old man dead more than two weeks ago.

Cecil Jackson, 26. was found lying unresponsive Oct. 17 behind an elementary school on Magee Street, WKRG reported.

The outlet noted Wednesday marked the first day authorities in Prichard told the media about Jackson’s death. It was unclear why the homicide was disclosed 16 days after Jackson was killed.

“He was killed, and Prichard police haven’t done anything to get our family justice. It’s been 2 weeks; we have put him to rest, but his family and friends still need answers!” read a statement from Jackson’s family sent to WKRG.

Jackson, who was a graduate of Blount High School, was described by his family as “the life of the party” and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

The mayor’s office asked that any tips on the homicide to be sent to Prichard police at 251-452-2211.
