Suspect arrested in fatal Mobile shooting of 35-year-old man

A 31-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man earlier this month in Mobile, police said.

Kerry Miller, 31, was arrested on murder charges in the Oct. 20 death of William Burton, 35, said Cpl. Katrina Frazier.

Mobile police officers responded to the 7000 block of Smith Street around 9:27 a.m. Oct. 20 on a report of a male shot, Frazier said at the time.

At the scene, officers found Burton, who sustained a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Frazier said.

Police said they were not releasing further details on the homicide since the investigation was ongoing.
